Booking a Hotel in Istanbul: Rooms, Meals and Cancellation Checklist

Choosing a hotel in Istanbul involves more than comparing a nightly price. The right booking should match your daily plans, party size, room requirements and cancellation needs. Use this checklist when requesting accommodation through Osmanli Travel.

Start with your itinerary and hotel location

Tell us which places you want to visit, where your tours start and which airport you use. Compare the actual address and travel arrangements rather than relying only on a neighbourhood name. A hotel that works well for one itinerary may be less convenient for another.

If you plan day trips, confirm that pickup is available from your chosen hotel. Do not assume every tour includes collection from every district. Our trip pages explain the relevant arrangements, and the team can confirm the pickup details for your dates.

Choose a room category, not just a hotel name

Send the number of adults, children and their ages. Ask about the maximum occupancy, bed arrangement and whether an extra bed or cot is available. A sea view, balcony or connecting room should be confirmed for the exact category rather than inferred from a gallery photograph.

Tell us about step-free access, lift access or other practical needs before booking. Availability and suitability must be confirmed by the hotel; a photograph alone cannot establish these features.

Compare the complete offer

• Arrival and departure dates, number of nights and room category.
• Total price, currency and any separately payable charges.
• Meal plan and what breakfast or other meals actually include.
• Payment timing, cancellation deadline and any non-refundable conditions.
• Check-in and checkout arrangements, especially for early or late flights.

Compare offers on the same basis. A lower room-only price may not represent the same service as a rate with meals or flexible cancellation. Keep the written quotation and ask the team to clarify any item before confirming.

Read hotel photographs carefully
