Istanbul Airport Transfers: Booking and Pickup Checklist

An Istanbul airport transfer is easiest to arrange when the booking includes the correct airport, a precise hotel address and a realistic luggage count. This checklist explains how to request a private transfer with Osmanli Travel and what to confirm before travelling.

Check the airport on your flight booking

Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) are different airports. Copy the airport code and flight number from your airline booking rather than writing only “Istanbul airport”. Include the arrival date, local arrival time and whether you need an airport-to-hotel or hotel-to-airport journey.

For departure, agree the hotel pickup time with the team before the travel day. Traffic, the route and airline check-in requirements affect planning; a fixed journey time should not be treated as a guarantee.

Send these details for a clear quotation

• Flight number, airport code and travel date.
• Hotel name and full address, or a location link.
• Number of adults, children and their ages.
• Number and approximate size of suitcases, plus pushchairs or bulky items.
• Return journey details, additional stops and any assistance you want to request.

Discuss child seats or accessibility needs before confirming. Vehicle capacity depends on both passengers and luggage. Do not assume an extra seat, a particular vehicle model or assistance is included unless it appears in your confirmation.

Confirm the price and pickup instructions

Also confirm waiting arrangements, flight delays, cancellation conditions and any additional stop before booking. Outbound and return transfers are arranged separately. Keep the confirmation available on your phone and tell the team if your flight or hotel changes.

Is a private transfer the same as a private city tour?
