You may want a day among forests or mountains without riding a cable car, driving ATVs or trying the zipline. Before you rule out a Sapanca or Bursa trip, separate the included sightseeing route from the optional paid activities. Then ask a practical question: what will I do, and where will I meet the group, while others take part in the activity?
The current pages for the three group trips below list optional activities separately from the programme fare within the confirmed service area. However, this does not prove there is an alternative tour, special supervision or free time at a place of your choice. This guide helps you choose a trip and ask for the right arrangement before booking.
The main visit is different from an activity ticket
Having a cable car or safari area among the day’s stops does not mean the trip price includes a ride, a drive or an entry ticket for every activity there. Equally, not choosing an activity does not automatically cancel the rest of the programme’s stops or make the trip private for you.
Start by reading the “Trip programme” and “Optional activities and services” sections on the service page. If you see a photo of a cable car or ATVs, treat it as a picture of the place or experience, and don’t take the photo alone as proof of what you will pay for or what you have to do.
Sapanca and Maşukiye by coach: check the visits before the activities
The programme for Sapanca and Maşukiye by coach lists stops including the Mahmudiye waterfalls, the Maşukiye forests, the Kartepe area and the glass terrace overlooking Lake Sapanca, along with other stops and lunch. Understanding what this day involves does not require assuming you will take part in every activity offered during it.
The page lists the safari, ATVs, zipline and Kartepe cable car as optional activities at extra cost. If you don’t want them, ask the team to explain the arrangements for non-participants at each stop, the meeting place and the expected duration. We do not assume here that you can leave the group for an independent tour or request a private drop-off during the activity.
Sapanca and İzmit VIP: a different route and a shared group
The Sapanca, Maşukiye and İzmit VIP trip has its own programme, including visits to the Maşukiye forests and safari area, the glass terrace, the Hidden Valley, a Turkish delight factory and the Moon Viewpoint in İzmit, along with lunch. The page explains that the off-road safari, ATVs, zipline, swing, cable car and Upside-Down House tickets are optional and paid separately.
The difference matters: visiting the safari area is not a booking for a safari vehicle ride. Also, VIP here means a trip in a small group of up to 14 passengers, not a private car. Don’t carry over the regular coach stops to it; the current VIP programme does not include visits to the lion park or the aquarium.
If your goal is a particular viewpoint or stop, mention it by name when you enquire and ask how it is arranged on your date. And don’t conclude that skipping the activities will make the day shorter or change the coach’s return time.
Bursa and Uludağ: choosing the mountain does not automatically book the cable car
The Bursa and Mount Uludağ trip combines the Yalova countryside, the historic tree, local stops, the mountain, shopping and lunch. The page lists the Uludağ cable car, chairlift, safari and ATVs separately from the base price as optional activities at extra cost.
If you want to see the mountain without riding the cable car, ask how your transfer and meeting point work within the confirmed programme. Don’t take the phrase “going up the mountain” as a promise of a specific alternative route or of taking each participant to a place of their choice. Likewise, don’t assume there will be snow or that every activity will be running on the date of your visit.
Questions that settle the choice if you don’t want the activities
- Can I join this programme without taking part in the specific activities I don’t want?
- Where do non-participants wait during the activity, and is the place suitable for the people in my group?
- What is the meeting point and time, and how do I contact the guide if needed?
- Does reaching the stop I want depend on buying a separate activity, or are there other confirmed arrangements?
- Do I need a different arrangement because of a child or limited mobility, and what is actually available before confirmation?
Don’t rely on a general answer from another trip; locations and group arrangements may differ. Confirm any mobility needs before booking, as being able to join the coach does not prove that every stop is fully accessible or that a personal assistant is available.
Is the trip cheaper if I skip the activity?
The pages mentioned describe the optional activities as outside the programme fare; their fees are paid if you choose to take part. So don’t assume that not buying them brings an extra discount on the included transport, visits and lunch. Ask for the total price of the service you choose, then add separately any activities you want.
Within the confirmed service area, the pages state that there are no additional mandatory fees for the basic programme. Transfers outside that area or any special arrangement require a separate agreement. Rely on the booking summary for your date, and don’t treat the price of an activity ticket on site as the price of the trip itself.
When should you discuss a private trip?
If you want to skip all the activity stops or change the length of the stops and the return, you may need to discuss a private programme instead of relying on the group programme. See Sapanca by private car and ask for a quote that sets out the route, duration, capacity, guide, meals and tickets separately.
This is a separate service option, not an automatic upgrade from the coach or a guarantee that every request can be met. The car price applies to the service according to its offer, while group pricing is per person; don’t carry the inclusions of one over to the other. You can also read our comparison of group and private tours to understand the difference before requesting a programme.
Send your request in a way that helps the team reply
We would like the [name] trip on [date]; we are [adults and children’s ages], and our hotel is [location]. We prefer nature and don’t want [activities]. Is the programme suitable for us? Please explain where non-participants wait, the meeting point and any need for a different arrangement, and confirm the inclusions and total price.
Choose your service from the Istanbul tours page or start a booking request for Sapanca and Maşukiye by coach if that is the right programme for you. Mention what you don’t want to take part in when you get in touch, and wait for confirmation of the arrangements; sending a request does not mean an alternative activity or a change to the group’s route has been approved.
